What are the golden moments of your life?

What legacies are you leaving for younger generations?

How have you contributed to human evolution in a helpful way?

Are you at peace with how your life has gone?

What core values do you live by as an elder?

Are your affairs in order?

What choices remain to you? How can you retain agency?

How are you preparing for the final stages of your life?

What are your thoughts about the afterlife, or your soul’s journey?

After completing the prompts, divide a page into two columns. The headings for each column should be ‘negative’ and ‘positive’. In the ‘negative’ column, write a list of negative experiences, emotions, themes, actions and reactions from this septennial. In the ‘positive’ column write the positive experiences, themes, actions, gifts, relationships from this septennial.

Now take a few moments with your eyes closed to feel into the negative list, considering each item you have written down. Then do the same for the positive list. Now, allow the two lists to merge – try to sit above or apart from the two lists and allow them to merge into one list, being, or energy – however you like to think about it. From this place, ask for a seed image to emerge, which represents the summation of this septennial, of the two lists and the merged lists.

Your seed image may appear in your mind visually, or as thoughts describing the image, or in another way. Go with the first image that arises and open your eyes and draw it on a piece of round paper.

Ages 73-74 are significant ages. After 72 years, we have lived through one cosmic world year, moving out of old karma and into a new realm. A new kind of freedom is suddenly possible, with an opportunity to truly let go of the past and face a renewed future.

At age 74, another lunar node occurs with the theme of ‘seeding’: preparing for the next cycle. We have the opportunity to see our life journey and mission with clarity.

This septennial contains the ‘Water Trials’, characterised by turbulence and an inability of the external world to hold us any longer. We must find an inner orientation.

Our outer circumstances, such as where we live, may change as we face crone and elderhood. The challenge of the water trials is to consciously direct the flow of life events rather than drown in them. Wrestling with trust in life, spiritual connection and preparation for end of life may become prominent themes.
